ATLANTIC COUNTY, N.J. -

The former owner of Ocean Resort Casino, Bruce Deifik passed away in Colorado over the weekend.

The Press of Atlantic City reports that Deifik was killed in a single-car crash on Sunday, April 7th, after leaving from a Colorado Rockies baseball game in Denver.

The Associated Press says that the Denver Medical Examiner Office has completed an autopsy and that the cause of death is still under investigation.

Deifik, 64, bought the former Revel Casino last year for $200 million from Florida developer Glenn Straub, after the casino was closed due to bankruptcy in 2014.

It was announced in January of this year that the New York hedge fund, Luxor Capital Group, would take ownership of Ocean Resort Casino.
