Wildwoods Convention Center to Host National Folkstyle Wrestling Championships

The Atlantic Coast Wrestling Association will host the 16th annual War at the South Jersey Shore National Folkstyle Wrestling Championships at the Wildwoods Convention Center.

The championships, which runs from Friday, April 19 through Saturday, April 20, will have a youth tournament with over 50 weight classes across five age divisions, and a high school division with 16 weight classes.

It will also feature expanded wrestling hours, a new mat layout for additional seating, and split sessions on both Friday and Saturday.

More than 2,000 wrestlers representing over 20 states are expected to compete.

This year’s wrestling tournament will feature a K-12 Girls Division as well as traditional open girls and boys youth and high school divisions. Girls will have a choice of wrestling in either the Open (with boys) or the “Girls War.”

Awards will be presented immediately after the completion of each bracket and the certification of results.

Weigh-ins for all wrestlers will take place in the Wildwoods Convention Center on Thursday, April 18 from 5-8 p.m. Competitions will take place from 8 a.m.-7 p.m. on Friday, and 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday.

An admission fee will be charged at the door for spectators.
