VINELAND, N.J. -

Vineland officials are asking runners to put their running shoes on and register for the first ever Running The Ave 5K.

The 5K will take place on Sunday, June 23rd at 9 a.m. in downtown Vineland. The run will be held rain or shine.

“If you’re running just one 5K this year, make it this one,” said Main Street Vineland Executive Director Russell Swanson. “Runs such as this are all the rage these days across the country. This will be a great way for people to have fun, keep physically fit, and help promote our beautiful downtown—The Ave.”

Vineland’s downtown business district will be turned into a sanctioned 5K race course with a run through Landis Park. There will be professional timers and medals will be awarded in various categories.

Registration is $20 per runner and is not open to walkers. To register, go to theave.biz.

Proceeds from the 5K will benefit Main Street Vineland’s efforts to revitalize Vineland’s historic downtown.
