ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. -

The Atlantic City’s Arena Football League (AC AFL) is paying homage to the city’s gambling history.

On Thursday, March 7th, team officials announced that the name will be the Atlantic City Blackjacks.

“We are proud and excited to reveal our identity to the world,” said George Manias, COO of the Atlantic City Blackjacks. “The Atlantic City Blackjacks embody what Atlantic City is all about. The gambling tie-in is a natural, but the royalty, confidence, and strength that our logo represents will translate to the product that we put out on the field and in our community. We have a very sharp look and we couldn’t be happier with the finished product and our team name, colors, and identity!”

The name was voted on by the community at CatCountry1073.com.

Blackjacks gained a total of 36% of the total votes while the Gamblers came in as a close second at 31%, Royals at 13%, Jackpot at 11%, and High Rollers at 9%

Its uniforms have not yet been unveiled, but they will use the team's red and black color scheme, reflecting the two main colors of a blackjack table.

The dance team name and other core elements of the team’s brand will be announced at a later date.

AC AFL's inaugural game will be on Saturday, April 27th against the Philadelphia Soul at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.
