Officials in Camden County held a special event to make sure brides in veteran families look and feel their very best on their special day.

On the morning of Tuesday, February 12th, the Camden County Board of Freeholders and M & M Realty Partners LLC held an event at the Camden County Boathouse to provide 500 donated bridal gowns to veterans and their brides-to-be.

Officials say the goal of the event is to not only make sure veterans and their families know Camden County is here for them but also to help them feel confident on their wedding day.

"I hope that they realize the commitment and the appreciation that Camden County has for their veteran loved one. said Camden County Freeholder, Bill Moen. "But, I also hope on a separate level that they're able to experience may be a level of happiness or joy in whatever they're wearing this dress for whether that be to get married, or whether it be to renew vows or to celebrate Valentine's Day."

In addition to bridal gowns, there were also special occasion dresses and bridal accessories to choose from, all free of charge.

All the dresses were turned over to M & M Realty after a bridal shop in the area unexpectedly closed.

The real estate company chose to donate the dresses to make sure the did not go to waste.
