It was an exciting day for officials with Inspira Health as they moved one step closer to opening their new Cancer Care Center.
On Wednesday, February 6th, Inspira officials, joined by state and local community leaders, gathered for a topping-off ceremony to celebrate the final steel beam installation at its new leading-edge Cancer Center at its Mullica Hill Hospital site.
The new center will feature the latest technology in cancer treatment and also house a medical office building that will offer a variety of services.
President and CEO of Inspira Health, John DiAngelo, says he's lost two family members to cancer which is why to him building this cancer center in the community is so important.
"The fact that we can do this and hopefully put together a program that will save more people as we go down the line means an awful lot to me," DiAngelo says. "That's why I drove to want to do this in the way we're doing it so we can help as many people in our community as possible."
The new $70 million, 100,000-square-foot Cancer Center is projected to open in January 2020.
