GALLOWAY, N.J. -

Officials and business leaders throughout Atlantic County met Wednesday to discuss where things stand and where things are going in the county.

On Wednesday, February 6th, officials with the Greater Atlantic City Chamber held their annual State of the County event in Galloway to discuss the accomplishments made in 2018 and the plans that are in place for this coming year.

One of the big topics of discussion at the event was working on growing the aviation industry within Atlantic County, which officials say will not only benefit the county but also the the state.

"Well, this event [includes] the movers and the shakers here in South Jersey that have come to the chamber," said Dennis Levinson, county executive, Atlantic County. "It's important to get them involved so that they understand exactly the direction we're going in, in Atlantic County.

"By the way, when we do get going with this aviation part, this is not just for Atlantic County, this is for all of South Jersey and hopefully for all of New Jersey."

During the presentation, speakers discussed the growth of Atlantic City, sports betting, and new business opportunities moving into the area.
