Hamilton Twp. Police: No Reports of Human Trafficking

Last Edited:
MAYS LANDING, N.J. -

After numerous posts surfaced on social media referring to attempted "human trafficking" incidents in Atlantic County, police in Hamilton Township also took to social media to say there is no reason to believe any criminal activity of this kind is taking place.

Police say the social media posts refer to individuals claiming to be affiliated with a religious group that were tempting to lure people into a human trafficking scheme at various parking lots in Mays Landing.

The Hamilton Township Police Department say that they currently have no reported incidents of actual crimes involving human trafficking in the area.

They added that they have spoken with multiple members of the religious group and, at this point, there is no evidence supporting any criminal activity.
