Camden County Authorities Teach Residents about Ice Safety

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, N.J. -

With all the cold temperatures, bodies of water have begun to freeze, but officials with the Gloucester Township Police Department are reminding everyone in the community that just because the ice looks thick enough doesn't mean it is.

Gloucester Township Police Department officials have released a video teaching residents some important safety tips when it comes to icy lakes and ponds.

Never wander out onto frozen surfaces as they may not be thick enough to support you weight.

And if someone you know or a pet breaks through the ice, do not try to walk out to help them; simply call your local police department for help.
