GLASSBORO, N.J. -

Business leaders and local and state officials met in Gloucester County to discuss the current state of the county.

On Friday, January 11th, members with the Gloucester County Chamber of Commerce held their 15th annual State of the County event to recognize the leadership of the county and the progress made in working with the business community and educators to support job growth and business development in the region.

More than 350 decision makers from throughout South Jersey gathered at the event in Glassboro to hear the current state of the local economy, business community, and what's to come in 2019.

"It really was a great discussion on what people can do to improve our workforce out there from apprenticeship programs to incentives that are available throughout the state," said Les Vail, president, Gloucester County Chamber of Commerce. "So that's really the purpose of the State of the County, to bring a message about what's happening here to business."

This year's keynote speaker was former and legendary Philadelphia Eagles coach Dick Vermeil, who discussed his transition from coach to successful business owner in hopes of helping to motivate other local businesses.
