Officials with a local utility company are reminding their customers that they don't have to be left out in the cold this winter.

Atlantic City Electric officials are reminding customers about their Home Energy Assistance Programs that are tailored to help them through colder weather or with temporary or extended hardships, including the federal government shutdown.

The payment assistance program provides relief on gas and electric bills for households that are experiencing a temporary financial crisis.
