CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE, N.J. -

Members of one South Jersey community got the chance to enjoy a cup of joe with the men and women who work to keep them safe.

On Tuesday, January 8th, the Middle Township Police Department held a Cops and Coffee event at Burke Motors in Cape May Court House.

The event is just one of the many ways the Middle Township Police Department is working to create a strong bond between them and the people they serve.

"It's really a great way for us to interact with the community, a great way for our police officers to get to know the members of our community, and it's something that we find really valuable," said Middle Township Police Department Chief Christopher Leusner.

In addition to the cups of joe, today's Cops and Coffee event also included a fully catered breakfast complete with a create your own waffle station.
