NJSP Report Reveals Reduction in Fatal Motor Vehicle Accidents Last Year

A report released by the New Jersey State Police shows the number of fatalities from motor vehicle accidents was down in 2018.

According to the report, the number of deaths caused by motor vehicle accidents was down nearly 10 percent in 2018 when compared with the year prior.

A total of 566 people died from motor vehicle accidents last year, which is 58 less than in 2017.

The report contains statistics of fatal motor vehicle crashes that have been reported to the New Jersey State Police Fatal Accident Investigation Unit. So far in 2019 the New Jersey State Police is reporting 5 fatalities on the state's roadways.
