Penns Grove Police Chief Travels to Delaware to Investigate Mysterious Noise

SALEM COUNTY, NJ -

A mysterious noise sent a local police chief on a mission into a Delaware town to find out where it was coming from.

The News Journal of Wilmington reports that on Christmas Eve residents in several South Jersey communities heard a heavy bass noise.

After receiving numerous 9-1-1 calls, Penns Grove Police Chief John Stranahan decided to drive into Wilmington to track down the source of the noise himself.

He scoured neighborhoods listening for clues until finally, his ears led him to a skate park at the confluence of the Christiana River and Brandywine Creek.

It was there he found four men and a van with a massive sound system.

Stranahan says the men got away, but he just wanted to let them know the music was disturbing people.
