WASHINGTON D.C. -

Today the nation remembered the nation's 41st president, George H. W. Bush.

Remembrance ceremonies continued on Wednesday, December 5th, in Washington D.C. as living presidents, dignitaries from throughout the country, world leaders, family, and friends came together to say their last goodbyes at a funeral service at Washington's National Cathedral.

This is the first presidential funeral to be held there since 2006.

Bush died last Friday at the age of 94.

At this funeral, his son and 43rd president, George W. Bush, gave a tearful eulogy calling his father "a great and noble man and the best father a son or daughter could have."

Federal agencies were closed for the day for the funeral.

Bush will now make his way back to Texas where he will be laid to rest beside his loving wife Barbara on Thursday, December 6th.
