Claridge Hotel Is Going Strawless in January

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. -

Officials with an Atlantic City hotel are doing their part to protect the planet by saying goodbye to plastic straws.

On Tuesday, October 30th, officials announced that the Claridge Hotel in Atlantic City will be going strawless by eliminating the use of plastic straws at the hotel starting in January.

The removal of plastic straws from the property is an effort to take action against plastic pollution and join the movement for a strawless ocean to prevent pollution and harm to water and sea life.

Officials say they hope this initiative will make a positive difference and set an example for other Atlantic City hotel and casino representatives to do what's right for the Jersey shore's iconic beaches.
