HADDON HEIGHTS, N.J. -

Residents in Camden County will soon have a newly improved space to enjoy some outdoor entertainment.

On Wednesday, October 10th, Camden County officials and members of the community gathered to officially break ground on a project to upgrade the 83-year-old amphitheater at the Haddon Lake Norcross-McLaughlin Memorial Dell in Haddon Heights.

The Dell, which has become home to the county's Sundown Music Series and other special events, will undergo a total renovation to modernize the stage and seating area.

Officials say they are thrilled to begin the project and hope will it become a space the community can enjoy for many years to come.

"We are very very proud of this project," said Camden County Freeholder Jeff Nash. "We think it's going to enhance not only this park but the entire county park system, and for many many more years the residents or Haddon Heights and surrounding communities will enjoy this beautiful venue."

The project includes replacing the current stage, updating bench seating, adding safety lighting, increasing accessibility for disabled residents, and improving the overall flow of seating.
