Salem Community College Unveils Historic Clock

CARNEYS POINT, N.J. -

From Charleston, South Carolina to the streets of Woodstown, a historic clock has now found its home at Salem County College in Carneys Point.

Salem Community College unveiled the alumni clock on the Dr. David J. Kinke Green late last month.

The clock, which is nearly 50 years old, was bought in Charleston by Gregg Perry, the owner of Woodstown's Perry Clock Shoppe 18 years ago.

The clock then stood in front of the Perry Clock Shoppe until the Salem Community College Foundation bought it this summer.

The clock was then re-gilded and repainted in the college's colors before its unveiling on the college green.

The Women's Club of Penns Grove-Carneys Point donated and planted the flowers surrounding the alumni clock.
