Motorized Paraglider User Crashes on Wildwood Beach

An afternoon of fun turned dangerous as a motorized paraglider crashed onto a Jersey Shore beach.

Wildwood Police say they were alerted to the accident on the beach in the area of Spencer Avenue at 12:42 p.m. on Saturday, October 6th.

The man who was strapped into the paraglider seat was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City for treatment.

Witnesses told police that it appeared like the man's parachute became tangled and collapsed causing him to fall from about 30 to 40 feet in the air.

The accident remains under investigation by the Wildwood Police Department and the Federal Aviation Administration.
