ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. -

Business leaders in Atlantic City held an event to discuss the growing opportunities for developers in the area.

On Thursday, October 4th, officials with Fox Rothschild LLP, in partnership with representatives with the Atlantic County Economic Alliance, the Greater Atlantic City Chamber of Commerce and the Southern New Jersey Development Council, held a panel discussion on opportunity zone prospects in the region.

The panel of experts discussed state and local planning, policies, and programs that support and encourage opportunity zone projects.

Official say events like this are important to make sure business owners and developers are familiar with all the resources available to them in and around the city.

"There are programs out there that business and developers can benefit from if they want to bring new opportunities into this area, and that this is an area ripe for development," said Michael Viscount, partner, Fox Rothschild LLP.

The Opportunity Zone Program, enacted by the 2017 federal Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, is designed to drive long-term capital investments in low-income rural and urban communities.
