Camden County Seniors Urged to Get Flu Shots

CHERRY HILL, N.J. -

Officials in Camden County are making sure seniors in the area are ready to take on the flu season.

On Thursday, October 4th, the Camden County Freeholder Board held its 24th annual Camden County Senior Health Fair to officially kick off the 2018 seasonal Influenza Immunization Program.

Thousands of seniors from throughout the county came out this afternoon to get their free flu shots to be prepared for whatever this flu season brings.

Officials say providing resources to help better care for seniors is the least they can do for all they've done for us.

"Seniors were there for us when we were growing up, they took care of us, they provided for us," said Camden County Freeholder Carmen Rodriguez. "It's now our turn to take care of them and provide for them."

The senior health fair also featured dozens of health information tables, games, and prizes.

The Camden County Freeholder Board has scheduled several other immunization events.
