Stockton University Holds Fall 2018 Career and Internship Fair

Stockton University gave its students a chance to explore new career opportunities.

Stockton students dressed for success made their way to the university's Sports Center on Thursday, October 4th, for the Fall 2018 Career and Internship Fair.

The event welcomed nearly 100 employers, including several Atlantic City casinos, as well as government, retail, law enforcement, and social service agencies, all looking for students to fill full time and internship positions at their company.

University officials say each semester the career fair gets better and better and they are happy to see the success their students are having.

"One of our roles is to make sure that our students are moving into viable careers upon graduation," said Walter Tarver, assistant vice president of Transition and Retention at Stockton University.

"I mean it's kind of the point of coming to college is to make a better life for yourself through employment, so you know that's part of our mission, part of our vision as an institution. So to hold these two events, one in the fall and one in the spring, is really one of the things that not only are we obligated to do but certainly it's something that parents and students expect when they come to Stockton."

Among the employers were former Stockton University students who were sharing words of wisdom with potential employees about their career field.

Stockton holds a Career and Internship Fair every spring and fall semester to expose students to different opportunities.
