Garden State Parkway to Eliminate Exact Change Toll Machines

NEW JERSEY -

Exact change tolls along the Garden State Parkway will soon be a thing of the past.

The New Jersey Turnpike Authority announced it will be eliminating the automatic exact change coin machines from the mainline barrier toll plazas on the Garden State Parkway.

The coin lanes are being replaced with full service or E-ZPass Only lanes.

Officials say drivers can still give exact change, the only difference is they will be providing the money to a toll collector instead of throwing it into a coin basket.

Work to convert the toll lanes will begin on Monday, September 24th, and will result in the temporary closure of some lanes at the toll plazas.
