American Red Cross: Be Prepared

Last Edited:
SOUTH JERSEY -

September is National Preparedness Month and with hurricane season in full swing, representatives with the American Red Cross want to make sure you and your family are prepared.

Officials with the Red Cross are urging everyone in the community to start preparing now for a disaster instead of waiting until an emergency actually happens.

There are a number of things you can start doing now to make sure you and your family are ready to go in the event of an emergency including creating an emergency kit and making an escape plan.

"You can be prepared by three easy steps: get a kit, make a plan, and be informed," said Laura Steinmetz, chief communications officer, American Red Cross. "It's that easy for your family to be ready for any disasters that may occur."
