Stockton University's Board of Trustees has given the final approval to purchase a former Atlantic City casino property located near its new Atlantic City campus.
The university signed an agreement with Florida-based company TJM Properties to purchase the site of the former Atlantic Club Casino Hotel.
The agreement includes 11 upland lots totaling 9 acres, a beach lot that's 11 acres, a nine-level parking garage, and a 23-story hotel tower.
Stockton officials say the proposed purchase is an investment not only in the future of Stockton but also in the future of Atlantic City.
Stockton's new Atlantic City campus is scheduled to open for the fall semester in just a few weeks.
