Vineland Celebrates 'National Night Out'

VINELAND, N.J. -

Thousands of people throughout South Jersey came out to celebrate their communities at National Night Out events on Tuesday night, August 7th.

While events were held in dozens of towns throughout the area, we swung by Vineland's Big Night Out celebration.

On Tuesday night, law enforcement, emergency responders, town officials, and local businesses all turned out to show their community members a good time.

Officials say the event gets better each year and is a great way to help bring the community and local law enforcement closer together.

"It's trying to deliver unity and collaboration. Just coming out and supporting your local businesses, your police department, your community," said Vineland Police Department Captain Lene Bowers.

The Vineland Police Department treated those who came out to a K-9 demonstration, music, bounce houses, face painting, giveaways, and they even capped the night off with some fireworks.
