Gov. Murphy, Barack Obama, Others Receive Illustrious Kennedy Award

Governor Phil Murphy is among distinguished company as he was named one of the winners of the 2018 Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Ripple of Hope Award.

Murphy joins former President Barack Obama, Discovery President David Zaslav and Humana's CEO Bruce Broussard as 2018 recipients of the honor.

The Robert F. Kennedy Ripple of Hope Award celebrates leaders of international business, public service, entertainment, and activist communities who have demonstrated a commitment to social change.

According to the awards announcement, Murphy is being honored for his enacting of the nation’s strongest equal pay law, strengthened voting rights, and his support of New Jersey’s immigrant communities as well as serving on numerous non-profit boards and leading a national task force on the future of education.
