ABSECON, N.J. -

Who knew ice cream could taste good and do good all at the same time?

On Thursday, August 2nd, Dairy Queen kicked off its Miracle Treat Day celebration to raise money for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.

Dairy Queens, like the one in Absecon, will be donating $1 from every Blizzard they sell to Children's Hospitals.

To date, Dairy Queens across the country have helped raise more than $135 million to help make miracles, and officials say they couldn't do it without the support of customers.

"It takes a small army to pull this off and if it wasn't for the support of the community this would never happen and it's all about giving back," said Robert Wenz, owner of the Absecon Dairy Queen. "Our customers are very good to us throughout the year and now it's our turn to give back to the community."

To help make the day even more fun the Absecon Dairy Queen's Treat Day festivities included a bounce house, music, prize raffles, and games the whole family could enjoy.
