When it comes to back-to-school shopping, buying everything your child needs can be difficult and for the many families in need in South Jersey getting school supplies can be much more challenging, but two local organizations are trying to change that.
The Community Food Bank of New Jersey and Boscov's have teamed up in Egg Harbor Township once again for their 6th annual Stuff the Bus event to collect school supplies for families in need.
Officials say making sure kids have the supplies they need to be confident and successful this school year is what event's like this are all about.
"Let's not make going back to school one step harder, let's make it one step easier and thank you Boscov's, every kid regardless [of] where they are or what they have will have the opportunity to put a brand new backpack on their back and be excited and motivated to get back to school in September," said Renate Taylor, director of development at the Community Food Bank of New Jersey.
From now until Saturday, August 4th, you can stop by the Boscov's store on the Black Horse Pike to drop off school supplies.
You can purchase book bags and other supplies for $10, $15, or $20 to help stuff the bus and make sure every kid in South Jersey has a stress free and successful school year.
