VINELAND, N.J. -
Homeowners in the Vineland area are being warned about a possible fake salesman going door to door.
Officials with Vineland Municipal Utilities are warning residents that a suspicious individual who claims to be a water utility employee is going door to door attempting to sell $8,000 "water softening systems."
Water softening systems are not sold by the utility or any other affiliated company.
Officials warn residents not to provide any information to anyone claiming to be from the utility unless they show proper identification.
Door-to-door solicitation is only allowed in Vineland from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
