ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. -

An announcement Tuesday morning had members of the Atlantic City Ballet leaping for joy.

The OceanFirst Foundation awarded the ballet company with a $2,500 grant.

The OceanFirst Foundation presented the check to the ballet company's artistic director on the morning of Tuesday, July 10th, who said the money will go towards something new for the city.

"This is a very exciting day for us because the money from this grant actually went to help me produce a new ballet, which as a ballet company you want to have new works, you don't want to just do the old works," said Phyllis Papa, founder and artistic director of the Atlantic City Ballet.

Other local grant recipients from the OceanFirst Foundation include the Bay Atlantic Symphony and the Atlantic City Arts Foundation, which has a mural featured across the street from OceanFirst's Atlantic City location.
