Swimming with friends in a South Jersey lake turned deadly for one man over the weekend.
Lower Township Police say that a drowning victim was located in the Cox Hall Creek Wildlife Management Area.
On Sunday, July 8th, the man was with two friends visiting the Wildlife Management Area and decided, along with one of his friends, to go swimming in the lake.
While one of the swimmers left the lake, the victim, a 58-year-old white man, could not be found.
After a brief search that included the Town Bank Fire Department's Dive Team as well as the Cape May County Sheriff Department's K-9 Unit, the victim's body was found near the shoreline.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Lower Township Police Department on their Tip Line at 609-886-1619 ext. 156.
