GCIT Hauls in 15 Medals from the SkillsUSA National Leadership Conference

SEWELL, N.J. -

The Gloucester County Institute of Technology’s SkillsUSA Chapter won big at the SkillsUSA National Leadership Conference in Louisville, Kentucky.

The group won 15 national medals, two teams won gold and two won bronze.

Kiyoshi Woods received the Presidents Volunteer Service Award for completing 186 hours of community service. Woods will also serve as the state president for the New Jersey SkillsUSA during the 2018-2019 school year.

For the fourth year in a row, the chapter was recognized as a Model of Excellence Chapter for being one of the top 24 Chapters in the county.

Forty-one students completed nationally in a variety of skilled trades and leadership competitions.

The SkillsUSA National Leadership Conference was held from June 25th to June 30th.

Gold

Chapter Business Procedure - Jasmin Anderson-Berzley, Brittany Berry, Payton Clements,
Kaitlin Deal, Ashley Minore, and Madison Strockbine

American Spirit - Paige Maden, Kathryn Leash, and Peyton Walsh

Bronze

Chapter Display - Brendan Combs, Cameron Holmstrom, and Aidan Quinn

Career Pathways Arts & Communications - Team members were Kendall DeVecchis, Marissa
Rosas, and Heather Sirisky
