Local New Jersey lawn care company Lawn Tech has selected Buena Regional High School graduate Isabella DeStefano to receive their 2nd annual scholarship.

This merit-based scholarship is awarded to a student who is passionate about science and interested in pursuing a career in biology, chemistry, environmental science, or other related fields.

Local businessman and Lawn Tech owner, Craig Vacula, says, “Each year, this scholarship provides a great opportunity to give back to our local community. We enjoy investing in the youth of New Jersey and helping them achieve greatness. We believe in giving back and look forward to awarding this scholarship on an annual basis.”

DeStefano will be attending Rowan University in the fall. She is passionate about safe drinking water and created an initiative with her sister called “Project: Clean Water” to raise funds for the installation of a well in Africa. Her efforts resulted in providing approximately 500 families with access to clean, safe water.

DeStefano plans to combine her passion for safe drinking water with her love of science by working towards an undergraduate degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry, with a minor in Mathematics. She has excelled in academics her entire life, ranking first in her class with a 4.5873 GPA.

The team at Lawn Tech is honored to assist Ms. DeStefano in the pursuit of her education and wish her the best in her future endeavors.
