Camden County Gives Out Free Box Fans to Senior Citizens to Beat the Heat

While the heat wave may be coming to end for now, officials in Camden County want to make sure seniors in the area have what the need to stay cool for when the next one rolls around.

To help senior citizens beat the heat this summer, the Camden County Freeholder Board is once again distributing free box fans for eligible seniors over the age of 60.

Officials say after the last couple of days of extreme heat it's important to make sure seniors have what they need to stay comfortable and cool as summer continues but more importantly so they stay safe.

"If you are a senior and you have a difficult time with finances please reach out to us, we really want to give you a fan, we want you to stay cool especially during these weathers," said Camden County Freeholder Carmen Rodriguez.

The free box fans are available to all residents over the age of 60 with an income of $25,000 or less.
