NEW JERSEY -

Governor Phil Murphy has signed the law allowing sports betting to take place here in the Garden State.

On Monday, June 11th, Murphy signed the legislation that the New Jersey State Legislature passed last week.

Racetracks and casinos are ready to start taking bets on sporting events now that Murphy signed the law making it fully legal for them to do so.

The State won a U.S. Supreme Court case last month clearing the way for New Jersey and all other states to start taking bets on sporting events.

Up until then, betting on sports was only allowed in four states.
