ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. -

Hundreds of women got together Thursday, June 7th, for the 25th annual Women's Forum in Atlantic City.

More than 400 women came out to the Golden Nugget for one of the area's most prominent events that helps raise money for charities in need in the city.

At the event, attendees got to mingle with other women, and took part in several silent auctions and heard from this year's keynote speaker, award-winning actress, model, and author Brooke Shields.

She says events like these are important for women and change.

"It takes a village, you know, I think that this is when you see the power that women generate when they assemble and are open and talk about whatever the issue is. I think the changes that can be made are monumental," said Shields.

The luncheon's goal this year was to raise $70,000 and since its founding in 1994, the event has raised more than $750,000 for greater Atlantic City charities.
