ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. -

One of the country's largest daily fantasy sports companies is teaming up with an Atlantic City casino in the latest deal seeking to capitalize on the now legal sports betting market.

Draftkings and Resorts Casino signed a deal on the morning of Friday, June 1st, to offer sports betting in New Jersey.

The partnership highlights the scramble among gambling, bookmaking, and technology companies to position themselves to gain a large share of the sports betting market since the United States Supreme court cleared the way for it last month.

Prior to the ruling in the case brought on the state of New Jersey, sports betting was only legal in four states.

Draftkings says it will be ready to take bets as soon as it gets the green light from New Jersey regulators, which could be in the next coming weeks.
