Officials with Rowan University and Rutgers University-Camden celebrated a major milestone in bringing more educational options to the next generation of health care providers.

On Wednesday, May 23rd, members of the Rowan University Rutgers-Camden Board of Governors held a ceremonial steel-topping event to mark a milestone in the construction of its joint Health Sciences Center.

The new center is an innovative facility that will provide unique education and training opportunities for students who are working towards careers in the health care industry.

Officials say the center will not only provide high quality education to students in the area, but will also help play a role in reestablishing the city of Camden's identity.

The 95,000-square foot joint Health Sciences Center is expected to generate $72 million in economic impact in Camden and is set to open in mid-2019.
