Officials in an Atlantic County community broke ground a new project.
On Monday, May 21st, officials in Hammonton broke ground to mark the start of construction of a 4,000-square foot Wawa on Bellevue Avenue.
In addition to its signature convenient store, the new Wawa location will also include gasoline pumps.
Officials say the project will help redevelop and revitalize the area, which will help attract more business and create a stronger community.
"It's jobs, it's ratable, it's growth for the town, it's another positive sign of Hammonton moving into the 21st century," said Hammonton Mayor Steve DiDonato.
Officials say construction on the new Wawa is projected to be completed sometime this fall.
