ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. -

Officials in Atlantic City have announced plans to demolish an abandoned motel on the outskirts of the resort town.

City officials announced the City of Atlantic City is partnering with the Casino Reinvestment and Development Authority (CRDA) to demolish the former Bayview Inn and Suites located on Route 40 (Black Horse Pike).

Officials say the property has become a nuisance to the city and home to dangerous and illegal activities.

They added the demolition will help better the area for all its residents and visitors.

There is no word yet on when demolition is scheduled to begin.
