Wednesday was all about keeping kids in South Jersey healthy and happy.
On the morning of Wednesday, May 9th, more than 100 students from Veterans Elementary School in Camden stopped by the Cooper Medical School of Rowan University to take part in Children’s Regional Hospital at Cooper’s Pediatric Health Fair.
The event was designed to start teaching kids at a young age about healthy habits in hopes that they will share what they learn to help others live longer healthier lives.
"Even if they take away one message from one table that would be super," said Lorraine Sweeney, community outreach coordinator for Cooper. "If they learn more then that's amazing, but they all walk away with a message."
Through interactive games and engaging discussions by physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers, students learned about health, wellness, prevention, and safety.
After a day of learning the students were then treated a simple and healthy lunch.
