This summer, Joshua Robert Bloom from Buena Vista, will join outstanding high school students from across the nation to take part in a unique academic development experience, the National Youth Leadership Forum (NYLF): National Security - Diplomacy, Intelligence and Defense, taking place in Washington, DC.
National Security is one of the Envision family of programs (envisionexperience.com) that enable students to explore their interests and experience learning beyond the classroom.
Bloom was nominated to attend the forum based on his exemplary academic performance.
He is a current Cadet in the ACIT JROTC Air Force program and a Cadet in the Cumberland Composite Squadron - Civil Air Patrol.
Bloom aspires to attend the United States Air Force Academy upon his graduation from ACIT. He is looking forward to the experiences that this National Security Forum provides.
During his week in DC Bloom will visit and have a hands-on experience at the FBI building, Pentagon and Capital Hill.
“National Security is a great opportunity for high-achieving scholars to get outside the classroom and see, through hands-on interactive learning, how to innovate and think creatively,” said Andrew Potter, the Chief Academic Officer for Envisions.
“These students, who have already proven themselves academically, will be challenged to work on real-world, student-created projects to bring their studies and career interests to life."
Since 1985, Envision programs have served more than 800,000 students in more that 145 countries, with the program designed to help students develop the leadership, scholarship and career skills needed to succeed in today’s competitive college and career landscapes.
