$7,500 On the Line as Rowan Students Face Off in New Venture CompetitionLast Edited:
Aspiring entrepreneurs went head to head for a chance to start getting their dream businesses off the ground.
On Friday, April 13th, five entrepreneurs from Rowan University faced off in the New Venture Competition for a chance to win $7,500 in seed money to begin their own start up companies.
The students spent the last several weeks working with business professionals and participating in workshops to fine tune their pitches for their big presentation.
Officials say the competition gives the students an opportunity to understand the process of starting a business and developing new ventures in both a collaborative and competitive environment.
Since its inception in 2008, the New Venture Competition, originally known as the Business Plan Competition, has awarded more than $120,000 to students and student teams catapulting their business ideas into reality.
