Scary Situation in Goshen Ends Safely

Cape May County officials were able to safely bring an end to a scary situation Monday afternoon.

It was at around 2:30 p.m. on Monday, April 9th, when Middle Township Police responded to a home on the 200 block of Route 47 North in the Goshen section of Middle Township to check the well-being of a resident.

When officers arrived, the individual barricaded himself inside the home.

A joint investigation was conducted by various law enforcement agencies in the area, which led to the road closure of Route 47 between Bucks Avenue and William Street.

After approximately seven hours, the suspect was safely removed from the residence and transported to the Cape Regional Medical Center to be evaluated.

The Cape May County Prosecutor's Office thanked everyone involved who helped bring this situation to a safe conclusion.

Criminal charges are pending against the suspect following further investigation.
