Hiring and Training Resources Fair at Cumberland County CollegeLast Edited:
VINELAND – The Cumberland County Hiring Event & Training Resources Fair will take place 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on Thursday, March 29 in the Luciano Conference Center at Cumberland County College, 3322 College Drive.
“The major focus of this event is to provide information on the hottest growing industries in Cumberland County, and then connect individuals with the training sites and support services that can prepare them to work in these fields,” said Freeholder Director Joseph Derella.
A partnership between Cumberland County College and the Cumberland County Department of Workforce Development/One Stop Career Center, the event is free to attend.
“This joint effort is about connecting the community with the college, where individuals can get the training for the jobs that exist through our Workforce Development Center,” said Cumberland County College President Dr. Yves Salomon-Fernandez. “We are all on one campus and that is bringing value to both businesses and the people of Cumberland.”
Workshops will be offered to provide attendees with information about the most in-demand career fields as identified by the New Jersey Department of Labor. Workshop topics include: how to get started in certificate, short-term training or educational programs in preparation for a new job; paying for your education with financial aid, student loans, scholarships, grants, and training opportunities through the One Stop; exploring career opportunities in some of the fastest-growing jobs directly related to the allied health care field; how to tap into job opportunities in New Jersey’s vibrant transportation, logistics and distribution industry; and discovering Mechatronics, a branch of engineering which engages technology in its mechanical and electronic processes.
Online registration is required to attend the workshops. For more information and to register, visit: hiringevent.cccnj.edu. No internet access? Register by calling 856-696-5660, ext. 3018.
More than 30 employers will participate in the event activities throughout the day. Individuals are urged to bring their resume and dress to impress.
“This event provides an opportunity for residents to learn about the various education and training options available that are directly linked to industry demand,” said Allison Spinelli, Executive Director, Cumberland County Department of Workforce Development. “Professionals will assist them in identifying the resources and support services they may need while gaining the necessary skills for success.”
