Whale Carcass Found Washed Ashore in Brigantine

BRIGANTINE, N.J. -

Those powerful nor'easters that recently occurred helped dig up an interesting find at a Jersey shore beach, but it wasn't buried treasure.

Crews in Brigantine were surprised to find a whale carcass had emerged from under the sand at the beach on South 6th Street.

It is believed the whale was buried or covered nearly a decade ago after it washed it up on shore.

Brigantine Public Works crews were called to rebury that massive whale under the sand where it will hopefully rest in peace for many more years to come.
