Free Snow Removal Being Offered to At-Risk Camden County ResidentsLast Edited:
With all the snow that fell in Camden County yesterday, officials are offering assistance to senior citizens and disabled residents who are unable to remove the snow from their properties.
The free snow removal program goes into effect after four or more inches of snow has fallen on the ground and uses the help of Camden County Jail inmates.
The crews work during daylight hours to clear snow from steps, driveways, and sidewalks to make properties safer for residents to get in and out of their homes.
The program does not supply salt or ice-melting chemicals but crews will dispense them if supplied by residents.
At-risk senior or disabled residents who need help clearing the snow from their properties can call the Camden County Division of Emergency Management at 856-783-4808 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
