McCullough has served as mayor for Egg Harbor Twp. for the last 28 years and in city government for 32, but says he knows he is leaving the community in good hands.

"I have mixed emotions about it because I love Egg Harbor Township, but I think it's time for new people to get involved with this great town," said McCullough.

He also stated his wife has not been in the greatest of health and is stepping down to be more available for her.

McCullough added that he is moving back to Atlantic City and while he has no plans to get back into politics in the future, he is willing to help the city in any other way he can.
