Hometown Heroes 2018: Donna Bennett

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, N.J.—Donna Bennett began her career with Big Brothers Big Sisters in 1986 as a volunteer Big Sister and currently holds the position of President/CEO. Bennett is a visionary leader with progressive experience and passion to facilitate organizational growth, with a motivational drive to inspire others to believe in a mission and vision of an organization. She is active at the state and national levels advocating for quality Big Brothers Big Sisters Brand Protection, Standards, and Procedures for child protection.

During her tenure, the agency has received Gold and Pinnacle Awards from Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. Since 2002 more than 4,000 youth have been mentored by volunteer Big Brothers and Big Sisters. Bennett was a founding advisory and alumni member of Leadership Cumberland County.

Additional awards include the South Jerseyan of the Year award for the non-profit sector from Rutgers’ Walter Rand Institute, induction into the Cumberland County Women’s Hall of Fame, CEO of the Year Award from Big Brothers Big Sisters of America and Liberty Bell Award from the Cumberland County Bar Association. She is also a member of the Vineland Rotary Club.
